Volunteer

The Regal Theatre is a hugely successful community theatre offering a vibrant variety of live performances and films, and is run entirely by an enthusiastic band of volunteers. Our volunteers are the life-blood of the theatre; they contribute to maintaining the building and opening the theatre for events on over 120 nights a year.

We’d love you to join us. Whatever your interest and skills, if you have any time and energy you’d like to contribute, we would enthusiastically welcome your help. We need volunteers for lots of different roles – all of them vital to keep the Regal up and running, so our theatre can continue offering all sorts of entertainment local to you.

We are currently looking for………

Assistant(s) to the Building, Maintenance and IT Systems Manager: Helping with either the electrical, plumbing or IT systems.


Press Officer: Writing and sending out copy to regional media, etc.


Box Office Staff: To cover morning or afternoon openings in the box office, selling tickets and answering enquiries.


General Admin: helping various departments with admin for ad hoc projects as and when they arise.


Bar: Serving refreshments on performance days.


Get-in / Get-out Assistant: for Get in/Get-outs: as part of a team, helping visiting professional companies to unload and transport their equipment, scenery, props etc. into and out of the auditorium.


Brochure Editor: and a team of volunteers: to help produce our ‘What’s on Brochure’ to publicize forthcoming performances and events.


Projection Assistant: with the Regal Film Society: to support and facilitate screening digital films, as well as live streaming events from The Royal Opera House and other venues.


Front of House: Meeting and greeting audiences taking tickets and selling programmes on the night of performances.


Sound Technician: Working to set up sound for performances and managing the sound desk during performances.

Lighting Technician: Working to set up the lighting rig for performances and managing the lighting desk during performances.


Set Building: To join a regular team which designs, builds and paints sets for MATA company productions.
