Dir Ken Loach UK/France/Belgium 2023 113 mins
Veteran British director Ken Loach’s compassionate, forthright and hopeful film is about a young Syrian woman who joins forces with a pub landlord to unite two traumatised communities in the North East of England.
The Old Oak is a struggling pub in what was previously a thriving mining community, and tensions start to rise in the town when Syrian refugees are placed in the empty houses in the community.
Ken Loach, who is 87-years-old, says this will be his last film so don’t miss it!
