Written in 1953, The Browning Version by Terence Rattigan is a classic gem of the British stage and shows Rattigan to be the master of language and British understatement, understanding all about the stiff upper lip.
In this short and intense drama, Andrew Crocker-Harris is an unpopular and unloved teacher, once passionate but more recently bowed down by a failing relationship and an institution that doesn’t share his values. After eighteen years, today is his last day before moving on to another school.
The Uncommon Players have developed a reputation for creating compelling productions of classic plays such as Educating Rita (Regal 2014)and Talking Heads and will be shown in collaboration
with Cygnet Drama School, and feature excellent young actors and the cream of regional performers. Director Anthony Richards.
A one-act drama lasting about 75 minutes without an interval.
