Local drama group, the Barnstormers, present ‘The 39 Steps’ from the Novel by John Buchan, adapted by Patrick Barlow. An original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon.

In this hilarious comedy, a man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she is a spy.  When he takes her home, she is murdered!  Soon a mysterious organisation called ‘The 39 Steps’ is hot on the man’s trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale.  It has murder, train chases, stiff upper lips, missing fingers, handcuffs, bagpipes, sheep, the Forth Rail Bridge and an on-stage bi-plane crash, all on the Regal stage!

This adaptation by Patrick Barlow won an Olivier Award in 2007 and went on to run in the West End and around the world for many years.  The team behind Barnstormers` award-winning production of ‘Great Expectations’ bring you this fast-paced parody of the famous Hitchcock film where dozens of characters are played by a cast of just four talented actors. It`s sure to be different!
