BROOKLYN

Dir: John Crowley      Ireland/UK/Canada 2015     112 mins

Based on Colm Tóibín’s novel, with screenplay by Nick HornbyBrooklyn is a profoundly moving story of Eilis Lacey, a young Irish immigrant, navigating her way through 1950s Brooklyn. Lured by the promise of America, homesickness rapidly fades when she falls in love.  But as her past catches up with her, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist for her within both of them.  Described by Mark Kermode as ‘a moving, emotionally intelligent and refreshingly old-fashioned movie’.  Stars Saoirse Ronan, Domhnall Gleeson, Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent.

Tickets are not available on line.
