MC – Jon Wagstaffe
A simple country lad from Tewkesbury Jon Wagstaffe burst onto the scene in May 2011 and has propelled himself quickly into being a well known act on the comedy circuit. His mix of high energy and clever writing make audiences warm to him instantly. Now experienced in playing to stag & hen parties to corporate nights, pubs to festivals, comedy clubs and competitions Jon is comfortable in any room. His take on modern life will have any audience in fits of laughter. He is also devilishly good-looking and has beautiful hair.
Opening Act Ricky Balshaw
Ricky Balshaw – Ricky Balshaw is a comedian and Paralympic, World Championship and European Championship dressage medallist. Ricky reached the semi-final stage of the 2021 BBC New Comedy Award competition and appeared on BBC One and BBC Three. He also won Best New Act in the 2021 Midlands Comedy Awards and he has performed at comedy clubs and festivals around the UK including Just The Tonic, Glee, Leicester Comedy Festival and Brighton Fringe.
Born with cerebral palsy, he started riding as part of his physiotherapy at the age of 4. At the age of 14 he was invited to join the British Paralympic dressage team and is still the youngest person to be inducted to the senior team. Ricky is an experienced motivational/after dinner speaker, discussing his sporting career and the journey after retiring. He has also worked as a sports for Channel 4 at the Paralympic Games in London, Rio and Tokyo.
Middle Act – Dani Johns
Quick witted, brutally honest and full of Bristolian charm, Dani Johns is a rising star on the comedy circuit.
With an energetic mix of storytelling and serious over sharing, Dani is an instantly likeable act and described as a “pocket rocket of a comedian” whose “sassy delivery captivates every audience member”.
Headline Act – Gavin Webster – North East stand up comedy legend!
Gavin Webster is a legendary, long standing, influential yet unpredictable comedian from the North East of England. He’s been going for 30 years now. After making his modest debut in a pub in Gateshead in February 1993 he’s done about Eight thousand gigs from Aberdeen to Abu Dhabi, Manchester to Melbourne and Hartlepool to Hong Kong. Famed and respected by his peers for his uncompromising and unusual approach and distinctly original routines, he now boasts a large cult following round the country, at The Edinburgh Fringe and particularly on his native Tyneside where he’s sells out theatres with his one man ninety minute shows not to mention 13 full Edinburgh runs where he has a loyal following. Hard edged routines, quick-fire pastiche pieces, moronic jokes and sardonic songs, his unique style has brought him this kind of praise and attention.
