A thriller biopic about the American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the atomic bomb during World War II. In a career-best performance Cillian Murphy plays Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist who is among those credited with being the ‘father of the atomic bomb’ for his role in the Manhattan Project – the World War II undertaking that developed the first nuclear weapons.
Oppenheimer thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it. An all-star cast includes Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr and Kenneth Branagh.
