Léa Seydoux gives a sparkling performance as Sandra, a widowed young mother raising her daughter on her own while also caring for her sick father, in this thoughtful and ultimately life-affirming film from French writer/director Mia Hansen-Løve.
While Sandra is dealing with the loss of the relationship she once had with her father and fighting to get him the care he requires, she meets an old friend Clément, who she hasn’t seen for a while and, although he’s married, their friendship soon blossoms into a passionate affair. Subtitled.
