Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime
by Oscar Wilde
Adapted for the stage by Constance Cox
Directed by Mary Noble
This wonderfully funny adaptation of an Oscar Wilde story has proved popular with theatre audiences for many years. It involves the tale of Lord Arthur Savile, a well-intentioned but slightly dim-witted member of the English peerage, who is told by a mysterious palm reader that he is destined to commit a murder. He feels duty bound to get the murder over and done with before his impending marriage to the delectable Sybil Merton and, with the help of his trusted butler, he sets out to execute the perfect crime.
However, this proves to be harder than he had at first thought. ‘Wilde-ly’ entertaining, witty and clever, this is Oscar Wilde at his very best and a talented Barnstormers cast looks forward to sharing his brilliance with you.
