Starring Bill Nighy and scripted by Kazuo Ishiguro, Living is a gentle and poignant remake of the great Japanese director Akira Kurosawa’s 1952 film Ikuru (To Live). The film is set in 1950s London and in a deeply affecting performance Nighy plays a buttoned-up civil servant Mr Williams, who receives news which compels him to rethink his outlook on life.
This wise and moving drama is an existential journey that celebrates learning how to live life, in all its fleeting beauty.
