This is a chance to see the premiere of a local film made in aid of Hope for Tomorrow. The short film (approx 50 mins), shot on location on the West Somerset Railway, features local actors and recreates a journey on the ‘Devon and Somerset Railway’ that used to run between Taunton and Barnstaple before it was closed in 1966. Set in the late 1950s, it is a gentle love story about a young couple who meet on the train one summer. It recreates the journey as exactly as possible, by using drone footage of some of the scenery travellers would really have seen out of the train windows at the time. It is unashamedly nostalgic; come and feel transported back to a different time where guards held trains back for late passengers, and going through a tunnel was somewhat exciting!
