It’s 1923; in Egypt, Howard Carter has discovered the boy king’s tomb and London has gone Tutankhamen mad. Meanwhile life in Limehouse is always a struggle for laundress Minnie Wu and her lay-about son Aladdin. Enter second-rate magician Abanazza who has come to London, determined to reclaim the lamp of Ra-ha-hotep which he misguidedly thinks is rightfully his. Unfortunately the lamp resides in The British Museum and he needs someone desperate enough to steal it for him. He thinks Aladdin fits the bill, after the boy has attempted to pick his pocket. Will the lamp bring good luck or bad luck to all who touch it? There are plenty of characters in Limehouse eager to find out. A 1920’s musical romp for all the family.
