This timeless story of love and hate is set among rival immigrant gangs on New York’s West Side. Based on Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet”, with book by Arthur Laurents, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and an unforgettable score by Leonard Bernstein, ‘West Side Story’ changed the face of musical theatre forever.
Directed by Sarah Jane Cross with choreography by Lorraine Ahern and musical direction by Paul Doolan, this promises to be a vibrant and energetic production featuring a talented cast which includes some newcomers to the Regal stage as well as some familiar faces. This amateur production is given by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Limited
