Christopher Plummer and Helen Mirren star in this beautifully filmed drama about the last year in the life of the great Russian writer Count Leo Tolstoy when he was held in almost god-like regard with a cult following.  Tensions mount between Tolstoy’s spirited wife Sofya, his follower Chertkov, played by Paul Giamatti, and his new private secretary Valentin (James McAvoy).

This fund-raising performance is open to the public and tickets cost £2 for members and £4 for non-members. There will be a priority booking period for film society members from Saturday July 3 to Saturday August 14, when tickets go on sale to the public.
