This is a Barnstormers and Minehead Youth Theatre joint touring production of Thomas Hardy’s ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’, adapted and directed by Lynn Gurnett….specially planned for when the theatre is closed in April.
This new adaptation of the famous tragic novel is performed ‘in the round’, with live music directed by Terry Chivers and a large cast that will transport you back to rural Wessex in the 1870s. Tess is introduced to the charming yet dangerous Alec d’Urberville, a liaison that sets her world spinning. She falls in love with handsome Angel Clare and their story reaches a dramatic conclusion at Stonehenge. An exciting yet intimate production of a well-known story, told with imagination and sensitivity. Produced by Elaine Ross, it features promising new talent alongside award-winning local performers. Venues are small; tickets are limited; book early!
Tickets for the two Porlock performances are available from the Regal Theatre and from the Porlock Visitor Centre. Ticket prices: Adults £7.50, Friends £7.00, ES40′s/Students £3.00
