Winner of the Palme d’Or last year at the Cannes Film Festival and nominated this year for the Oscar and BAFTA for best foreign language film, The White Ribbon is superbly crafted in crystal clear black and white and tells the story of a protestant community in a remote village in northern Germany during the early 1900s which is plagued by a series of mysterious and disturbing events.  
 
The film is directed with Haneke’s usual mastery and taut style.  Subtitled.
