Alan Ayckbourn’s ‘Relatively Speaking’ follows the fortunes of innocent Greg and worldly-wise Ginny as she tries to keep the more embarrassing details of her past hidden from him. His attempts to meet her parents whilst she tries to ditch a previous lover lead to hilarious complications.

Relatively Speaking was Alan Ayckbourn’s first West End hit and has been updated to suit a talented cast of local performers in this Minehead Dramatic Society production. The sparkling dialogue and wit guarantee laughter and enjoyment and the show a real must for Ayckbourn lovers.

After all, revenge is not always sweet. Intertwined in these dark deeds is a sweet love affair. Will it come through in the end?

This version of Sweeney Todd is the play that Stephen Sondheim saw on stage and used to write his musical.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear a very special accordion orchestra from Germany, that we are fortunate enough to welcome to the Regal as part of their West Country tour.

They will entertain with a wide variety of pieces, ranging from classical music, numbers from films, musicals and operettas, right through to jive and pop. They also play traditional works that have been composed specifically for an accordion orchestra.

About 20 members of the band will be on the current tour. The main orchestra was founded in 1956 in Usseln, Germany, but later moved to Korbach, where they are based today and are led by conductor Hans C. Petersen. They currently have a membership of senior players supplemented by enthusiastic younger players. An important aim of the Diemelspatzen is to encourage music making in the younger generation.

Diemelspatzen have already completed two tours to America as well as several tours in Europe. Now it’s our turn to experience this unique entertainment.
