An evening with Yeovil based Bertie’s Big Band. Twenty eight enthusiastic musicians led by musical director Bob Spiller deliver a diverse range of big band sounds from the 30’s through the swing, bee-bop era to new jazz ensembles. Throw in compositions from the greats such as Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis and Brubeck, add the finest jazz, swing, funk and latin arrangements by contemporary writers. and then relax to the silky voice of singer Kirsty Pybus singing John Davenport, Frank Sinatra, Gershwin as well as Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. and you have a recipe for a wonderful evening’s entertainment.
